Creative Alliance presents internationally-known Mexican artist Francisco "Paco" Loza teaching an indigenous Huíchol Indian art form called arte en estambre, drawing with brightly colored yarn on boards coated with resin and beeswax. Traditional Huíchol yarn paintings of the Sierra Madres are sacred, symbolic, and depict ancient beliefs. Stop by and try your hand at this beautiful art form.
This workshop is FREE and will be taught in both English and Spanish. Original Loza yarn art will also be on display.
Best suited for ages 7 and up.
