D. Lynne Distance is a supervisor at the Pratt Library's Southeast Anchor Library. A graduate of Morgan State University and the University of Maryland, D. Lynne is a member of the Griots' Circle of Maryland, Inc. and the National Association of Black Storytellers, Inc. She has performed across the country at various festivals and military installations. Her artistic journey began as a child listening to her uncles tell their versions of "Brer Rabbit." Now, her primary source of inspiration for her richly diverse stories comes from being an avid reader and observer of life.
