Meryl Comer, Slow Dancing With a Stranger: Lost and Found in the Age of Alzheimer's

Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 6:30pm

Central Library, Wheeler Auditorium 400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201

"The man I live with is not the man I fell in love with and married." So begins Slow Dancing With a Stranger, Meryl Comer's poignant story of her own personal experience with Alzheimer's, a devastating disease that today affects 5.4 million people in the U.S and 36 million worldwide. When her husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2001, Comer gave up her television career to care for him in their home.

An Emmy Award-winning reporter, producer, and business talk show host, Meryl Comer is president and CEO of the Geoffrey Beene Foundation Alzheimer's Initiative, which promotes early diagnosis, global innovation challenges and national public awareness campaigns.

Presented in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland Chapter.

The Ivy Bookshop will have copies of the book for sale at a book signing following the program.
