"Steal" some other writer's theme, style, or form and use it to satirize something. Song lyricists and advertisers, as well as published poets, can count as "other writers."
The Instructor: Clarinda Harriss is a professor emerita of English at Towson University whose poems and short fiction are widely anthologized. Her most recent books are The White Rail, Air Travel, Mortmain, and Dirty Blue Voice.
