To honor the late great Peter O'Toole (1932-2013), the Pratt screens one of his gems, Roger Michell's 2006 comedy-drama Venus.

As a pair of aging veteran actors, Maurice (O'Toole) and Ian (Leslie Phillips) spend their days cataloging their ills in a local cafe until the arrival of Ian's grandneice (newcomer Jodi Whittaker, later to star in Attack the Block and Broadchurch) interrupts their quiet routine. An invigorated Maurice takes the girl under his wing, and while showing her around London, realizes too late how little he really knows about the life he's led.

The outstanding cast also features Vanessa Redgrave as O'Toole's ex-wife and Richard Griffiths (The History Boys, Pie in the Sky, the Harry Potter films). The script is by Hanif Kureishi (My Beautiful Laundrette).

Directed by Roger Michell, 2006, 95 min., rated R.
