Creative Storytelling

Community organizer extraordinaire Chin-Yer Wright will show children and young adults how to using the tools of poetry for self-expression and memoir writing.

Ms. Wright is a multi-award winning poet, fiction writer, essayist, singer and visual artist. She is the author of Black Fairy Tales, which was recently turned into a captivating stage play. She is a two time recipient of the prestigious Adele V. Holden creative writing prize/award; and recipient of the Academic Excellence award in Adolescent Fiction.

This indoor program has limited spaces and pre-registration is recommended. To register, please call the Edmondson Avenue Branch at (410) 396-0946. Walk-ins are also accepted until the program reaches maximum capacity.

Following this program, participants are invited to join us for a fun virtual showcase on May 3rd at 3:30pm. Participants from the Edmondson Avenue, Hamilton, and Pennsylvania Avenue branches will gather virtually to strut their stuff, share the poems they've written, receive helpful feedback and much applause from each other (and the instructors) and learn about opportunities to continue developing as writers and performers!
