Please join us for an information session about how you can be involved in an exciting new crowdsourcing project that will help make valuable historic information available for researchers.
Digital Maryland and the Reginald F. Lewis Museum recently digitized several ledger books from the Mutual Benefit Society of Baltimore. The Mutual Benefit Society was Maryland's first Black owned insurance company and operated in Baltimore from 1903 until 1977. The ledgers contain thousands of names and addresses that would be valuable for genealogists and other researchers. However, the ledgers are handwritten and so are not easy to search.
That's where you come in! Using the From the Page platform, we'll talk about how you can contribute to this valuable project as a virtual volunteer.
