Genealogy Circle Meeting--Researching the History of a House
About this Event
400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201
Just because a house isn’t a famous landmark, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a rich history. Researching a building or property can require knowledge of many of the same resources as genealogical research. And it can be an exciting trip into the lives of those who lived or worked there. In this program, we will talk about where to find government records related to a building or property, how to research historical archives for information, and what to look for on site for clues. Presented by Julie Saylor, Librarian in the Maryland Department, Enoch Pratt Free Library/State Library Resource Center.
Registration is not required for this program. However, we will be holding a workshop on December 9th for those interested in working more closely with the presenter. Space for that workshop will be limited, and attendance at this lecture is a prerequisite for participation in the December workshop.
