Laura Lippman is the New York Times bestselling author of acclaimed stand-alones and the award-winning Tess Monaghan series.
Sujata Massey is the author of fourteen novels, two novellas and numerous short stories that have been published in eighteen countries. She earned a B.A. in Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University and wrote features for the Baltimore Evening Sun newspaper before becoming a novelist.
2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Kondwani Fidel, Chris Wilson & D. Watkins in Conversation
Kondwani Fidel is the author of his published collections, Hummingbirds in the Trenches and Raw Wounds. Fidel’s work has been praised by literary and civil rights giants such as Ibram X. Kendi, Eve L. Ewing, and DeRay McKesson. Fidel was most recently honored for his work with Baltimore’s Civil Rights Literary Award; Inspiring Voices award and his biofilm was nominated for Amazon’s “2019 All Voices Film Festival”.
Chris Wilson is the owner and founder of the Barclay Investment Corporation, a multi-service social enterprise, specializing in residential and commercial contracting work. Barclay works closely with local workforce and social service providers to connect unemployed Baltimore City residents with clients who are in need of services.
D. Watkins is editor-at-large for Salon. He’s also a college professor at the University of Baltimore and founder of the BMORE Writers Project. His work has been published in The New York Times, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, and other publications.
