Musical Storytelling with the Mount Vernon Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra

Join us from the comfort of your home for a half-hour musical storytime and an introduction to the world of classical music.  Today, we will read Jake the Philharmonic Dog by Karen LeFrak. Afterwards, we will hear a fun and fast violin showpiece using Zoom's music mode!

About Jake the Philharmonic Dog

Jake will introduce us to the instruments and sounds of the orchestra!  When Jake's friend Richie, the principal stagehand at the Philharmonic, brings Jake to work one day, Jake is treated to a lesson in orchestra music.  He "woofs!" to the tweeting woodwinds and "ruffs!" to the deep horns, but when he hears the entire symphony orchestra practice, he knows to be quiet and listen.  And when a crisis develops at that night's performance, Jake steps onstage and steals the show!
