With its mountain hollows, its lonely salt marshes, and its centuries-old architecture, Maryland is indeed a very spooky place. Join Enoch Pratt Free Library Maryland Department librarians, Lisa Greenhouse, Amanda Hughes, and Julie Saylor for scary folk tales and ghostly communications that will send shivers down your spine just in time for Halloween.
This is part 1 of a series of programs being presented by the Pratt's Maryland Department during the month of October, titled The Dark Side of Maryland. If this program interests you, you may wish to join us for the full series:
- part1 -- Haunted Maryland: It's Supernatural Hon, October 4, 6pm
- part 2 -- Mediums, Magicians, and the Ouija Board: A Spiritualist History of Baltimore, October 18, 6pm
- part 3 -- Maryland Mayhem: Scoundrels, Spies, and Sinners in the Free State, October 25, 6pm
- part 4 -- Witch's Brew: True Tales and Folklore of Witchcraft in Colonial Maryland, October 29, 6pm
All programs have been recorded and are available to view from their event listing linked above. In conjunction with Talbot County Free Library.
