About this Event
1303 Orleans Street Baltimore, MD 21231
Join artist Rosa Chang for a fun, hands-on workshop, Inspired by K-culture and traditional Korean crafts, you’ll create your own lucky pouch (복주머니, bokjumeoni) — just like the ones often seen in Korean historical dramas and fantasy stories. You’ll learn a basic hand-stitching technique while designing your own colorful patchwork pouch. Don’t worry if you’ve never sewn before, we’ll use easy-to-handle fabrics and simplified designs that are still inspired by traditional Korean pouches, so everyone can join the fun! Along the way, you’ll explore Korean traditional color theory (Obangsaek), learn about Korean textile traditions, and discover iconic motifs that make these pouches special.
All materials are provided, and walk-ins are welcome. Bring your K-culture love and creativity, and take home your very own handmade Korean lucky charm!
