Katie Pumphrey is an ultra marathon open water swimmer and visual artist who lives and works in Baltimore.  Katie has swum the the English Channel twice (2015 and 2022) and plans to do so again in 2025.  She swam around Manhattan Island in 2017, then across the Catalina Channel in California in 2018, earning her the triple crown of open water swimming.  Katie was the 194th person (73rd woman) to achieve that honor.

In June of this year, Katie became the first person ever to complete the Bay to Baltimore swim, a 24-mile swim from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to Baltimore's Inner Harbor.  Katie will be sharing stories from her swims.  She will also discuss life lessons with regard to setting goals and overcoming obstacles learned along the way in and out of the water.
