Musical Picture Whimsies celebrates the original paintings of Art10 Baltimore through the nine movement Pierrot suite, composed by Master Student of Composition, Bobby Ge. Based on the belief that art should not be an insular experience, Bobby Ge has created the suite dividing it into three sections that integrate the visual art with the melodic sounds of classical music.
Art10 Baltimore is a group of artists who have been painting together for 10 years. Their work has appeared in juried and non- juried shows throughout the United States as well as in a number of private collections. While each artist has a unique style, collectively their work can be described as impressionistic.
Bobby Ge is a Master Student of Composition attending The Peabody Conservatory. He is a recent award winner of the International Music Competition held in Harbin, China. The musicians and conductor are students or alumni of Peabody. The nine movement suite was written for flute, clarinet, percussion, piano, violin, and cello.
There will be an opportunity to view the art displayed throughout the room before the concert. Attendees will be seated to listen and experience the art through the musical performance. Following the concert, the audience will have an additional opportunity to view the paintings, meet the artists, Bobby Ge, and the musicians. Join us for this remarkable musical experience.
