Andrew Motion wrote the first and authorised biography of Philip Larkin and is his literary executor. From 1999 to 2009 he was the UK Poet Laureate, and is now Homewood Professor of the Arts at Johns Hopkins. He lives in Baltimore and has recently become a joint British-American citizen. His most recent collection of poems is Waders (McSweeney’s, 2024).
