DESCRIPTION:Join 2025-2026 Hackerman Writer in Residence poet Taylor Johnso
 n for the first in a monthly poetry-writing workshop series. From October 
 through May\, we'll meet for two hours on the third Saturday of every mont
 h except December\, when we’ll meet on the first Saturday of the month. 
  Each time you'll get to read a poem you're working on and get feedback on
  it and write to a poetry prompt. Some months will feature guest poets fro
 m the region.\n\n \n\nIf you would like to share a poem with the group\, p
 lease email it to wir@prattlibrary.org before the workshop starts so we ca
 n make copies.\n\nEach writing workshop has a limited capacity\, and regis
 tration is required. To register for any or all of the workshops in the se
 ries\, please fill out this form and await confirmation from the event hos

 he Baltimore Running Festival.\n\n \n\nAbout the Workshop Facilitator:\nTa
 ylor Johnson is from Washington\, DC. He is the author of Inheritance (Ali
 ce James Books\, 2020)\, winner of the 2021 Norma Farber First Book Award 
 from the Poetry Society of America and a 2024 Whiting Award. His work appe
 ars in Poetry Magazine\, The Paris Review\, The Baffler\, Scalawag\, and e
 lsewhere. Johnson is a Cave Canem graduate fellow and a recipient of the 2
 017 Larry Neal Writers’ Award from the DC Commission on the Arts and Hum
 anities\, and the 2021 Judith A. Markowitz Award for Emerging Writers from
  Lambda Literary. Taylor was the inaugural 2022 Poet-in-Residence at the G
 uggenheim Museum. He was the Poet Laureate of Takoma Park\, Maryland\, fro
