Kara Mae Harris: "Festive Maryland Recipes"

Kara Mae Harris will explore Maryland’s culinary history through her most recent collection of holiday recipes culled from her extensive research.   From white potato pie and stuffed ham to Thanksgiving turkey with oysters and Italian Easter pies, join us for a journey into Maryland’s food traditions.   This new book, Festive Maryland Recipes: Holiday Traditions from the Old Line State, features adapted recipes by local cookbook author Rachel Rappaport and a foreword by Chef John Shields.

About the Author: 

Kara Mae Harris is the creator of the blog Old Line Plate (oldlineplate.com), where she writes about Maryland’s culinary history.   She is the author of Old Line Plate: Stories & Recipes from Maryland.

Program Information: 

  • This FREE event will be presented in-person and virtually.   
  • To attend in person we strongly encourage you to register here
  • Doors will open to registered attendees at 2 pm. 
  • Free parking vouchers are available to program attendees who park at the Franklin Street Garage (15 W. Franklin Street).  Ask Pratt event staff for your parking voucher prior to or after the program. 
  • Books sales provided by Atomic Books.
