Before he made some of his best known films (Sound Mechanic, Icepick To The Moon, Hit & Stay, Little Castles, Managers Corner) and before he was programming film festivals (MicroCineFest, Maryland Film Festival), Skizz Cyzyk spent much of the ‘90s running a microcinema, The Mansion Theater, where he frequently hosted free screenings, often including films from the Pratt’s 16mm film collection. We’ve asked him to put together a program of his favorite films from the collection and this is what he came up with: Secondary Currents (Peter Rose, 1983), Snookles (Juliet Stroud, 1986), Betty in Blunderland (Dave Fleischer, 1933), Powers of Ten (Charles & Ray Eames, 1978), Short and Suite (Norman McLaren, 1959), Frank Film (Frank Mouris, 1973), Time Piece (Jim Henson, 1965), and Quasi At the Quackadero (Sally Cruikshank, 1976).
