Summer Genealogy Database Series

African American Genealogy Using Databases

Come learn how to expand your research using our online databases!  Bring your Pratt Library card and a willingness to learn, and let us show you the amazing things you’ll find in these free resources.

Learn how to use library databases to research your African American ancestors.  Explore how records you find will provide the broader context and specific details related to your family histories.

This is a four-part series.  Though attendance at previous sessions is not necessary, please note that concepts taught during earlier sessions will not be repeated in subsequent ones.  If you do not have a basic understanding of databases like Ancestry and/or HeritageQuest, it is highly recommended that you attend the first two sessions.
