About this Event
400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201
Join the Fine Arts and Business, Science and Technology departments for a multi-disciplinary program with artist Rosa Chang. Attendees will begin with a brief lecture on the history and science of indigo dyeing, followed by an introduction to various East Asian resist pattern techniques. Students will actively participate in making a natural fructose indigo vat and the soy flour paste used for pattern making. At the end of the three hour program participants will leave with a dyed 10”x10” cotton or silk bandana and the knowledge to create their own dyed fabrics in the future. It is suggested that attendees wear old clothing due to the nature of the program. All materials will be provided including aprons and gloves.
This will be an adults only program with a registration capacity of 20 participants.
