Cuples Tea House offers a unique "TEA TASTING" workshop series designed to inspire a passion for tea and highlight the importance of ‘True Tea’ beyond what is commonly available in grocery stores. Our tea tasting and education workshops are an interactive and educational experience that introduces participants to the world of premium loose-leaf tea, showcasing its diverse flavor profiles, aromas, colors, textures, and health benefits.
Session I: Introduction to Tea 101
Date: Monday, October 7, 2024 @5:30 pm
This session serves as a comprehensive introduction to the tea plant, offering a thorough ‘behind-the-scenes’ understanding of tea from production to taste. Participants will learn about:
- Various tea types and the factors affecting their quality and characteristics
- Techniques and terminology used to unlock wide-ranging tea profiles
- Brewing and tasting 4-6 types of tea
This session provides a solid foundation for the rest of the workshops in the series.
Session II: Tea & Food Pairing
Date: TBD
Prerequisite: Introduction to Tea 101 (recommended, not required)
In this session, we explore how tea extends beyond the morning and afternoon cup into dinner and dessert. Participants will learn how to pair tea with chocolate, fruit, and cheese, understanding how these combinations enhance each other through shared flavor characteristics and health benefits. Teas and foods will be sampled to detect and appreciate their complementary qualities.
