Critically acclaimed photographer Devin Allen will discuss his recent photographs of Black Lives Matter protests and explore the connection between today’s activism and that of the past. Devin Allen will be joined by authors Kondwani Fidel and Wallace Lane. The program will be moderated by bestselling author D. Watkins.
Devin Allen is a Baltimore-based photographer whose work has appeared in numerous publications, including TIME, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and New York Magazine. He is the author of A Beautiful Ghetto.
D. Watkins is the author of five books, editor-at-large for Salon, and a University of Baltimore lecturer.
Kondwani Fidel is the author of several books, including The Antiracist: How to Start the Conversation about Race and Take Action. He is an English professor at Coppin State University.
Wallace Lane is the author of the poetry collection Jordan Year. He is an English and creative writing instructor with Baltimore City Public Schools and a Creative in Residence at the Baltimore Banner.
