Lauren Francis-Sharma’s Book of the Little Axe is an incredible journey, spanning decades and oceans from Trinidad to the American West during the tumultuous days of warring colonial powers and westward expansion.
Lauren Francis-Sharma is also the author of the critically acclaimed novel ’Til the Well Runs Dry. She resides near Washington, DC with her husband and two children and is the assistant director of the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and the proprietor of the DC Writers’ Room.

Before you join a Pratt Virtual Program:
*Choose a quiet, well-lit place to sit. Make yourself comfortable, and if you choose to participate with a camera, make sure we can see your face!
*Test your audio before you begin. Headphones can help!
*Keep your microphone on mute to minimize background noise
*If you need to get up and move around, or do something unrelated to the program, turn your camera off to minimize distractions for other attendees.
*Pay attention to directions from presenters and facilitators.
*The first few minutes will be dedicated to troubleshooting.
